Good, but clichéd. As though someone was trying to put together a freshman appreciation class of New Orleans music and culture. The story line often takes a back seat to little lessons about Professor Longhair, beignets and Mardi Gras Indians. The acting in the many cameo appearances by semi-famous musicians and chefs is laughably bad.
Still, it's enjoyable. But not quite the quality of most of the other series that you mentioned.

Don't post too much here, but I found your criticisms of Treme somewhat unfounded. Have you actually watched it? Do you have an axe to grind with NOLA?
too many years as an employee of the State govt down there. It was certainly a creative risk to produce a show that routinely backs off the main story to build subplots that emphasize the unique culture down there.
Still love it, cringe inducing acting (at times) and all :)
