Good, but clich�d. As though someone was trying to put together a freshman appreciation class of New Orleans music and culture. The story line often takes a back seat to little lessons about Professor Longhair, beignets and Mardi Gras Indians. The acting in the many cameo appearances by semi-famous musicians and chefs is laughably bad.

Still, it's enjoyable. But not quite the quality of most of the other series that you mentioned.

Don't post too much here, but I found your criticisms of Treme somewhat unfounded. Have you actually watched it? Do you have an axe to grind with NOLA?
I loved the "lessons" you cite, probably caused by my many years of residency 70 miles west down US 61 and - Road Warrior 20:20:50 12/10/13 (0)
too many years as an employee of the State govt down there. It was certainly a creative risk to produce a show that routinely backs off the main story to build subplots that emphasize the unique culture down there.
Still love it, cringe inducing acting (at times) and all :)
