Enjoyed this last night. The hitman-for-the-mob-story has been done before, but this was one of the better efforts. The entire cast was very good, especially Ray Liotta as a mob guy with a soft spot for a buddy. Michael Shannon stole the film however as a hulking enforcer who you absolutely do not want to cross. Maybe a couple of loose ends that could've been tidied up a bit but all in all a good film that went totally unnoticed at the box office. It deserved better.
Follow Ups:
I saw the film because I had seen all the interviews with the real Iceman. I thought the film was entertaining but failed to give me the chills knowing how cold and callous Kuklinski really was. The final scene where he is interviewed in prison is a dead ringer.

Excellent film.

and a thorough scum bag--- Shannon got two out of three. The film didn't break any new ground, it was kind of a by-the-numbers crime film. It could have been a lot more since the guy was a serial killer/hitman, not a common type.
Definitely a film worth a tub of popcorn and a brew.

...read some stuff after the movie - it looks like the story is fiction.

Shannon was also the only bearable aspect of the ridiculous, frightfully dull and completely unnecessary "Man of Steel".
Even in that POS he managed to pull off the role with dignity and damn good acting!

as the off-beat, New Age hit counterpart to Shannon's old school ways. It was very well done with the script/story outweighing the violence.
