...I recently saw the previews to his new film "3 Days to Kill" which comes out this Friday - playing of course, the best secret agent ever who must come out of retirement.
It looks like it may be a comedy because he isn't Daniel Craig, Liam Neeson or Matt Damon.
Follow Ups:
Just pair him with good director.
As far as Costner - never been a fan of his, but not revolted by him either, he wasn't too irritating in No Way Out, so I don't see any reason why it would not necessarily work.

Kev the serial killler! What's not to like....except for keeping it in the family.
I pretty much feel the same
Actually thought he did a pretty decent job in that one. Kinda liked him in "A Perfect World" as well.
Kev is no sillier Liam plus Costner just warmed up in the recent Clancey film. He's going to be the geriatic Damon.
ages.
The very, very Dark ones...
Too bad he never got to make the final movie in the trilogy - The Dirigible; about a post-apocalyptic zeppelin pilot roaming the world looking for Cormac McCarty's characters from "The Road" so he could tell them their names.
He would have scored the post-apocalyptic trifecta - land, sea, and air.
Perhaps time for a Costner driven remake of Silent Running?

...Neeson was good in Batman Begins and Taken.
Not so much in Taken 2.
I think he has a new one coming out.
Costner just seems to have a permanent smirk on his face.
Never been a Costner fan. He is just too plain and deadpan. He must strike a chord in some (women?) people but why? Neeson was great in the wolf movie but I cannot see him as a regular action character. He is old!
...maybe that's why I like him.
Remember Rutger Hauer in Blind Fury?
Old guys rule!
