I was bowled over by Kimmel's unrelenting attack on Rob Ford for the length of the show. Ford showed a lot of testicular fortitude for staying the onslaught among all the laughs even though Kimmel seemingly confronted him on his every notable behavioral miscue. I guess Ford, after fourteen years as mayor, is accustomed to it. Only at the end did Kimmel say, "You're the finest mayor I've even met."
Being ever the salesman, Ford got in re-election points and said he had saved Toronto a billion dollars in his fourteen years. I think he would have sat through flame throwers and crocodiles just for that plug.
Late night television has its moments and this was one of them.
Follow Ups:
even greater Randy Newman. Actually, I think I might have gotten the better end of the deal. Newman aced I Luv L.A. and was a great guest. Fey is a genius, pure and simple.Edit - The promo we saw was the previous night's Kimmel show, Ford appeared at the end and Kimmel hollered out "You're on tomorrow night!"

Maybe the linked site may be more to your standards, judging by the pretentious name:
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" - Michael McClure
for low-brow tv fare, what's the point of it having ANY such name?
as well as befuddled, misguided, malcontent and tedious.
How much do I win?
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" - Michael McClure
.
Or this, "Okay, Sherlock got better, though still not much gravitas considering the history. Downton rules..."
Seems you like to talk about TV your own self!
;D
If you are still in NYC, perhaps you can get your stick removed at Bellevue's proctology department.
So BW wanted to talk a little TV. Great!
Okay, maybe not in enophile-land, after a quart or two of rotgut.
it is notable especially with the treatment he received. Ford has no effect on American politics but represents one of the most outlandish and unpretentious characters in public life. Kimmel's non-stop roast of him was extreme and cringe worthy. Reporting on BHO on Fallon might be too political but Ford is a one-of-a-kind guy who deserves his own comedy show if the fails to get re-elected. What a sport he is.
Oops.
Borderline political maybe; is that the concern?
Otherwise posts range from reality shows, newly released blockbusters, heck, people even post about boring foreign movies here. :)
