    I am talking about different kind of coldness, which is very alien to the typical Russian character. It is that icy purely Germanic coldness that I dislike. Strangely, I don't feel it in the Swedish, Norwegian or Dutch films. I think what you see in some of those Russian films is darkness, which is whole another story.         I remember it quite well, and watching it is painful for me, as it is very close to real life - the people, the apartments, the roads, the town, the teenage prostitutes on highways. At the same time, it all looks and feels so alien... sort of like one huge Stalker's Zona.
