Is there anything worth watching in 3D?

I'm currently playing with a new (display model) Oppo BDP-95 and a 51" Samsung 5500 plasma. Pretty soon the TV is going into the bedroom and the Oppo will be in my main system - at least until my Esoteric DV-50 gets fixed. No 3D there, an old analog Pioneer Pro-1000HD. I'd like to view something in 3D this week, but I'm not really into toons (or Avatar).

...I replaced my Panasonic 55-3D with an LG 3D tv (also with 55 inch screen), and passive 3D. And finally saw that under the right circumstances that the 3D process can succeed. I was impressed for the first time, and I liked this old movie. Kind of excited to start watching other movies. Judge Dredd is next, and then maybe Hugo.

If not for the spectacular images the film is otherwise nearly unwatchable.

....and at the risk of labeling myself a hooligan I've never laughed so hard at a theater then when I saw Jackass 3-D.
