This is a genre that always gets mixed reviews at best -- its nature is outside of credibility. Even the first Star Wars series, which I thought was pure crap, got some positive hits.

But none showing up for this one so far.

I couldn't help but feel it was a children's movie at the time I saw it. Yet, all kinds of adults just fell in love with it despite the silliness of the "creatures" and simplicity of everything else. Times were simpler then. Not as many distractions or video games.
