This is kind of a must-see for all the small-time or garage band guys that number in the millions. Kind of shows the pitfalls of fame and honesty. Collins starts out in earnest as a Lennon/Dylan type and, over time, let's his career corrupt him into something akin to Wayne Newton with the total destruction of his personal life--the one that mattered. Pacino was good and the film had a great beginning but pretty much slid into a typical Pacino film. The story was only semi-predictable and kept you waiting for "what next" on the emotional side.
A-list cast with Benning and Plummer standing out from the crowd.
Instrument players need to reflect on themselves to make sure their names aren't Danny Collins.
Follow Ups:
My wife tried dragging me to see a chick-flick movie and when I saw Pacino on the roster, that's what I wanted to see, a Guy-flick.
Pure Pacino.
Thanks! for sharing.
I'm just waiting for an "off" day to go see it along with the rest of the middles of the day movie-goer retirees.

Better yet - pigeon shoot.
I shall forever henceforth call him squirrel hunt buddy! Damn, he LOVES his movies tho.....

"E Burres Stigano?"
...Gosford Park. Both quite nice.
Silly question, of course he yells, it's a PACINO film!
Looking forward to seeing it.
Sure, he's been pretty predictable for longer than Leonardo DiCaprio been acting
but he's always worth watching, if only for a moment or two of absolute brilliance.

I saw the trailer last week. Man, it was so corny.
John Lennon must be spinning in his grave.
