I recently got a chance to view the film Mr. Turner. My interest comes from a fine arts background. I thought the film to long and slow, but beautify filmed and acted. The cinematography was a visual Turner painting. Your opinion?

Good assessment. Some scenes - with his dad, Sophia's nose, singing with the piano player - were moving. The scene with the prism was bewildering - maybe showing his fascination with light? Interesting insights into the politics and hierarchy in the art guild. Glad I saw it.
who had little to say about anything. Sure, the film had its visual art merits but the story was more about "Turner attitude" than the real man---unless he really was as big a prig as portrayed.
I like the word stodgy. But you much admit he had a way with the women.
...saw the ads, but can't imagine sitting through the film when there are so many others to watch.
As someone who does appreciate fine art, I enjoyed "The Girl with the Pearl Earring".
I have no problem with that. It would be best suited for the person with a knowledge of art history or who likes English period pieces. He was in his prime during the first half of the 19th Century.
