...but yeah, it was entertaining and mostly pretty funny.
It's an interesting commentary on current popular culture that a production such as this is so wildly successful. The showing I saw was a sellout in the largest auditorium of the local multiplex @ 9:15P sat. Age group wasn't skewed as young as I expected so it seems to have a relatively broad appeal...but very definitely not for everybody. I expect the novelty to wear off quickly.

older. In my case 65+ and still growing up.
...read someplace that the target audience was 18-34. At my showing I'd guesstimate18-50+ with many more geezers and females than expected.
The pattern I see in these, Marvel, DC, Hasbro, etc, is that they hit the theaters like a nuclear explosion and are quickly done and gone. More so than other subject matter. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you don't catch these within a week, then you've lost most of your chance for a big screen viewing. They make their megabucks in quick fashion or they don't pay for themselves. It must cost a fortune to just roll the credits at the ends of these.
Just speculation on my part.
Completely ill-informed speculation. The majority of Marvel Entertainment's movies have had extended runs, some of them wildly successful. The Avengers movies alone have done more than $1 billion, not counting rentals. That's with a "b." In other words, what the fuck?
...The opening and closing credits were part of the fun of this one. Most of the audience stayed for the easter egg in the closing credits so word must get around fast.
