In Reply to: RE: Funny, I would have thought with all the makeup Hillary has on, you'd have found her very frightening! posted by Raiderman on August 26, 2016 at 14:33:58
Hillary can look pretty scary too at times. But Nancy's large head, elongated face, and big smile (looking similar to one of the evil characters in the "Batman" comics, nicknamed "The Joker") scores big on the theatrical count.

Hillary scores big "Evil" points for her beady little eyes.
Every master villian's henchman has those beady little eyes, and a not so intelligent expression plastered upon their faces.
They tend to be very greedy, and highly dishonest, even to their bosses.
... make Hillary look like a greedy, overfed rodent. But because Nancy looks like a demented human she scares me all the more. The scariest characters in films all look like clowns after you watch them for a while. Name one that doesn't.
Hey, wait a minute... the more you look at ANYONE, the more they start to look like a clown!

Although, being an actress, she is used to playing a character and lying 90% of the time, which means she could never be a politician, as she is too truthful by a magnitude of 10!
(No politician can tell the truth more than 1% of the time!)
Stomach churning. I had forgotten about her.Even funnier perhaps, there is a lady in my town who looks and dresses very much like that. I think she is Irish, and (unbeknownst to her, I hope) the nickname we have given her is "Bozo".
Thanks.

I think the reason I am not creeped out by clowns is that when I was a youngster, (five or so), I actually got to go onto the local "Bozo the Clown" TV show that was on one of our local independent TV stations, (Channel 2, KTVU, in the Bay Area, I believe).
I actually won a toy train.
Yep, miss Bozo and his sidekicks....
I definitely remember channel 2 KTVU in the early 1960's as I in lived the bay area then. San Francisco was once a dangerous, rollicking city with a carnival-like atmosphere and so was also a great place for clownish and eccentric personalities.
I remember accidentally wandering onto Polk street during the 1976 bicentennial festivities. Gay clowns galore. Most were dressed up in fake military uniforms, but others called themselves "roller queens" and wore hotpants and roller skates. It seems that everyone wanted to act crazy back then. The high tech boom gradually destroyed all or most of that campy carnival atmosphere, so I'm told.
Too bad, no more free train sets for you!
Okay, since you too were here in the bay area in the early '60's, let's do some KTVU trivia then:
(And no cheating by going on the internet!!!!) ;-)
1. Who played Captain Satellite?
2. Who provided the voices for The Charley and Humphrey Show?
(And for bonus points, what were Charley and Humphrey?)
3. Who hosted dialing for dollars, and what did you have to know to win?
(This is kind of a gimme question!) ;-)
4. And finally, what was the name of the best late night hosted horror movie show, ever! (Sorry Elvira, but while you have some impressive attributes, you're only second best in this category!)
(And for more bonus points, who was the first, and best, host of that show!)
Two points for each question, and one point for each bonus question.
(Ten points is the most you can get.)
I remember all of the shows (1 - 3) but cannot remember who supplied the voices or the names of any of the hosts.
Could #4 have been the "Creature Feature" show hosted by that strange, skinny guy with the cigar?
1. Bob March
2. Pat McCormick, and puppets of a bulldog and a horse
3. Again, Pat McCormick, and "The Count and Amount".
4. Creature Features, with the late, great Bob Wilkins.
I used to love Creature Features, not so much for the movies, most were decent, but some of them were pretty lame, but mostly for Bob's dry sense of humor.
So I'll give you 2.5 points!
