I've only watched the first three episodes and I'm completely hooked. I love the fact that Lithgow was tapped to play Churchill. He does a really good job. Dr. Who isn't bad as Phillip either.
When King George dies (if that was a spoiler...I feel sorry for you...go read a book) the way she finds out and the fact that she "dies" as well is delivered effectively. You can tell they are cherishing the plane ride home because they know that once it's over, the old life is as dead as the king.

No need to feel anything...and certainly not sorrow.
Fwiw, I have been reading a few different history books of late. And I'm still hungry for more. Hence my initial inquiry.

Good for you! It was meant as a jest and not mean spirited. humor. History is full of humor, and other stuff.
The first reaction was sharply negative, but gradually I accepted him.
I thought Harris was simply superb.
