Watched this at a "midnight movie".A movie for the head-set.Really enjoyed the classical music set to animation ..or vise-versa.Especially liked it when they were searching for an ending.

The Sibelius Valse triste segment with the poor cat whose family fled (or died) in a war was a staple of viewing in our family as our kids were growing up. The cat's memories of the happier times were SO sad. And yet, how Italianate of the film makers to cut directly to some stock footage of old ladies crying at the end - as if to make fun of their own effort and of people's reactions to it! Even today, I get shivers up my back just thinking about that segment. Sentimental? Sure, and I'm not ashamed to admit I react that way. That one segment produces a far stronger emotional reaction in me than anything in the Fantasia movies does.

...I'm sure I enjoyed it - when I saw it on the big screen 40 years ago.If I recall there were a few touching scenes.
But I've seen Fantasia more than once - the dancing hippos, the Sorcerer's Apprentice, the visuals to the Nutcracker and numerous other scenes are burned into my memory.
