...something I can watch with my aging mother.
Love John Lithgow, as always.

even if you're not into the 'royal as celebrity' thing... this is major human drama / character study. I never credited Lithigow that highly. His work in this is a thing to behold, viz. the scenes with the portraitist. Amazing. Hope they do season two, too.

I am almost done with the series and I like it. I'm not a big fan of royalty, after all that is why we had a revolution in this country, but the series is beautifully shot and the acting is superb, some of the episodes lost my attention but otherwise "good show" as the brits would say.
I would like to see Tommy, the personal secretary, get hit by a double decker bus though.

My wife has been studying and somewhat obsessed with The Royals most of her life and though
an old story (at this point, for her) The Crown is holding her attention being a well told, well acted, and well paced story.Good stuff!

No sex, no nudity, no real violence, not much swearing, could be boring for some
which may ... excite... some.
But then sometimes a cigar is just that.
Yes the lack of "adultish" content is almost anti quality premium series TV these days!
Phillips ass doesn't count.

Keeps it well-sculpted for his age. Mine is looking more deflated with every passing year.
Back to the writing,
I also like the way they don't hang neon lights around every subtle point.
