Dax Shepherd (who?) and Michael Pena. These guys are funny. Pena is a great actor, playing an undercover FBI agent looking for bad cops in the CHP ("Chips"). The California Highway Patrol did not endorse/approve this film. No kidding?
Shepherd wrote and directed this; an odd and funny guy. Worth a look if it's free; floating around the cable channels.
Follow Ups:
Maybe there is one but it escapes me now, the ones I've "seen" are Hollywood crap where the trailers convince me they suck. We all know I generally dislike poo culture so no surprise.

"If at first you don't succeed, keep on sucking till you do suck seed" - Curly Howard 1936
...21 Jump Street
The Fugitive
Monty Python - Holy Grail, Life of Brian
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Star Trek Films
SNL - Blues Brothers, Wayne's World
The Fugitive yes, MST3K and Python we're done by the people that did the original shows so nix them I'm talking about Hollywood Whoaring.
SNL movies don't really count even though those two were SNL skits because most SNL cast member movies suck.
Star Trek movies are 50/50 which is still above average. I never liked 21 Jump St the show so .....

Sophomoric, scatologic, homophobic, misogynistic, penile, carnal, and generally sub-teen humor from start to finish. This one is a Freudian festival. Looking for redeeming value, I took it as a sign of the times. It just brought out my inner frat boy.
The insertion of the Pena character (said Freud) added a twist, so it didn't have a lot of basis in the tv series, other than the CHP and motorcycles. Beyond all that, there wasn't much to it.
Wow, a big departure from the show.

he was a medic in one scene. They had squeeze him in.
...on the weekends I'm usually looking for a comedy to watch.
Chips and most of the rest of the recent ones available get such low Rotten Tomato ratings (30s and 40s at best), I'm afraid to get stuck with a turkey, so to speak.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Aany other recommendations?
I surf mostly the free stuff, occasionally finding something worth mentioning. I can't think of any before I stumble over them.
Sometimes I'll watch the Comet Channel; early horrible sci-fi. Always good for a laugh.
