Do you judge every entertainment by how the white male roles are written, or is it just this show?
I am guessing it is every possible judgement you can manage,in every facet of life, and few make the grade. I hope I am wrong, but so many live in fear because their illusions are no longer supported, and change is hard.
Follow Ups:
...especially for old white men.
...at least for now. But the Neo-Marxists have different ideas, since all the ills of society are laid at the feet of the "oppressive" patriarchal Western culture. Time to even the score, I suppose ... Ask, Victor how well that worked out in the Soviet Russia.
. . . I think the OP's observations are pretty close to the truth. I agree with him that our entertainment industry keeps presenting these forced stereotypes to viewers - they're politically-correct cliche stereotypes which require a suspension of disbelief to annoying degree. That's not going to make me stop watching, but it is wince-inducing, and, as I roll my eyes, I'm thinking to myself, "There they go again!". ;-)
...Star Wars - The Force Awakens.
A reboot of the original Star Wars with a female lead and a black co-star?
I thought it was one of their best.
. . . and that was as much as I could take. Same for Mrs. CfL. ;-)
That is the very topic of Westworld--debunking the myths of a white male dominated world, heck they even chose a western theme where those myths find their most hyperbolic expression.
To confuse the message of Westworld as political correctness is an attempt just to marginalize it's message and rob it of its meaning.
Sure I hate political correctness as much as the next poor schlepp, but in this case it's not superfluous but the entire message. To claim Westworld is politically correct is like separating the dancer from the dance. Ultimately, it makes valid points.

I say...
About which Westworld do you speak? The original movie from the seventies, or this recent HBO remake?
The original movie was really more of a action/drama about a theme park with android actors that just goes wrong and the androids start killing the paying customers.
This new Westworld TV series, on the other hand, is a recent rewrite coming out of Hollywood that has designed into it all of the above social issues noted in the OP. Two different things, really.

I was referring to the HBO series, haven't seen to movie in a very long time. And yes, I'm agreeing that the themes are all there, but they are there because those themes ARE the story, not merely tacted on to cater to political correctness. Perhaps put another way, if you remove all the themes the OP considers political correctness then there is no there there. ;> )
I binge watched the HBO 1st season last year. The PC socially engineered contexts did not bother me too much. Let the girls have their fun. Everything will settle into the mix given a little time.
I guess season 2 starts next month.
