unclear about the future of the franchise.
Drawing on the past while bringing in the new keeps the action and laughs rolling. Reynold (born to play this role) delivers a stacatto of insults and ineuendo ranging from all the X Men, his returned wife, his latest nemisis, with some quirky homoerotic moves. Brolin plays "Cable" the time-traveling assassin from the future dead set on killing a young mutant teen who kills his family in the future.
Brolin is a wonder in playing such a straight guy while Reynolds is going crazy. He's like the one sane guy in an insane asylum. No telling how many takes were required from crack ups. There are some eggs in the credits so sit tight and watch for a suprise cameo of about three seconds.
This one is on par with the first if not a little better. It is enjoyable and disappointing by the fact DP3 may not be happening. (OF course, with box office receipts and big checks dangling in front of Reynolds, anything is possible in the Marvel universe.
A must see for Marvel fans and recommended to those who are not.
4 outta 5 wonks.
Follow Ups:
It's like Tarrantino meets a Leslie Nielson movie.
But this is what a comic book movie should be - silly and FUN. Something DC doesn't get. And Deadpool's quip about the DC Universe was hilarious.
I don't see why this could not go on for several more movies.
One Deadpool is far more entertaining than all the superheroes and CGI etc in Infinity War combined.

...excellent movie, lots of fun and laughs even if a little too long.
One of my favorites of the year so far.

...humor seemed more strained and forced this time around. Less audience enthusiasm than before at the showing I attended.
WW wonders about the future of the franchise after this with a DP3 in doubt. The final scene with the new happy family sets the stage and at least a couple of additional sequels could be done. The real issue is should they be done. I'm guessing not.
...the scene where his legs were growing back was hilarious.
...it was just a variation of the scene in DP1 where he's growing his arm back. I liked better the X-Force interview scenes, esp when DP is arguing with lucky woman about whether or not luck is a super power. Or "The Vanisher's" demise. Or the banter betw "MetalMan" and DP as DP is being hauled back to the mansion in a bag. Or the scene where we're introduced to "Megasonic Teenage Warhead's new "friend" etc. OTOH, some of the spoofing was kinda flat. Didn't appreciate at all the spoof of "Fargo" where "acid vomit guy" meets his fate. There were other scenes like this.
As I noted, future sequels have been accommodated but I don't see how the frantic pace and novelty of the schtick can continue w/o becoming totally derivative and stale.
...was derivative of DP1 which was unique.
Sequels always have that to deal with.
But I thought DP2 was funnier.
