Of course Cranston portrayed him on stage too. What shocked me most was the make up job where he was a dead ringer. Watching it now .....

Follow Ups:
Johnson was such a complicated human that I wouldn't think any film could capture the scope of him.
Looking forward to comments.
Pros and cons, he was one of the most enigmatic politicians governing during what was probably the most complicated part of our history. JFK killing implications, Vietnam, civil rights, and more are his checkered legacy. A complicated man for complicated times.
If anyone is interested, his ranch, west of Austin, is a National Historic Park. I have stopped in a couple of times to look around. Its visitor center is pretty swell. There is a running chronological pictorial history along its walls, very detailed, covering all facets of his life. This is no whitewashed display, pulling punches. The historians know he was very controversial, and laid it all out there on display. The center has a nice bookstore carrying several biographies of the man; all quite thick. Complicated books for a complicated man.
...politicians of our lifetime.
Medicare and Civil Rights among other things.
But also Vietnam. Sucking up all those false reports from Westmoreland while we continued getting wasted in-country. A checkered career.

He proved during his admin. why he was NOT the nominee in 1960. Kennedy was light years ahead of LBJ in almost every way. I honestly think he had a hand in the murder of JFK.
He grew up literally dirt poor, was a teacher and built his way up.
When you consider what he did for all people and black people especially while being a Dixiecrat it's pretty amazing
He was a foul mouthed bully of sorts. Big deal. You should read about his final years after 1968. Pretty intense.
I don't particularly like the guy either but he has quite a diverse resume and some very good things to his credit.

the most inspirational of U.S leaders in my lifetime is quite enough for me. Thank you. He only continued and enacted the Kennedy agenda. Perhaps you missed his comments as shown... Yep he was REAL class....
...what's the source?
Who implicated him in Kennedy's murder?
Never said he was
a good guy just that he did some good things. Yes many we're a continuation of the Kennedy agenda. Still an interesting life.
Nixon's tapes we're better.
