Peter Jacksons WWI documentary They Shall Not Grow Old pays homage to the resilience of soldiers in WWI while showing the absolute horror of war. The restored footage is breathtaking, this along with the actual WWI soldiers narrating their experiences feels very moving and current.
My understanding is the theatrical run was limited. In any event, if you can see it, stick around for the "special features" at the end.

Completely agree. Saw it at the theater a couple of days ago and was blown away. One of the best of the year for me.

    Thanks for piping in, it was such a great movie experience I wondered if anyone here saw it. I'm glad you liked it too. I kept thinking about it for days afterwards ... Any idea why the run was so limited? I think it ran in New York City for only 2 days.
