A Perfect World and one about a terrorist in a train. I earnestly hope he has stopped making movies. The movies were like parodies on dumb Police and Soldiers. Maybe they are!
Bill
Follow Ups:
'Gran Torino' trumps imo all of his old man movies and some of his young man movies. This is one of my top ten movies. Another Clint movie high on my list for sure is 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'. It is a must see.

"E Burres Stigano?"

Million Dollar Baby and American Sniper were really good IMO. They won over a lot of fans.He acts in his current film Mule, looking very old. I think this might be a turn-off for audiences who don't want to be reminded.

He is so darn good in those roles. And his Unforgiven is a masterpiece.
But no one can produce just masterpieces. Kubrick's brilliant career ended on a truly sour note of Eyes Wide Shot - a real piece of shit by any measure.

it's 'Em, as in Hang 'Em High.
Them is too highbrow...
Maybe.
I liked Unforgiven, but thought there was a hole in the story.
Gene Hackman had the drop on Clint near the end, but he hesitated, giving Clint all the opening he needed to kill him.
I think such holes are a norm in westerns - we all realize they have very little to do with reality. In that regard Unforgiven is closer to reality, than most.

!
I liked Pale Rider, when Clint goes in a Bar or Store Front full of guys with guns who want to kill him.
Several gunshots later, they are all dead, and Clint walks out.
Pure Clint!
The hero is walking slowly through the street, they show the bad guy's rifle barrel following him, long enough so some girl with a shotgun has time to discharge him.
Just the rules of the genre...

So true. I think of David Lean's "Ryan's Daughter," which had a Robert Bolt screenplay and a terrific cast. Laid an egg,IMHO, though it made money.
It was almost a decade before Lean made another film.
all I could think of while I watched the beautifully photographed drama unfold was Kubrick really did cast the wrong guy for the lead in this epic! According to IMDB, he originally wanted Redford but he turned it down... Though I am not a huge fan of Redford he IS a more talented actor than Ryan O'Neal... I'm sure Kubrick was ultimately disappointed with Eyes Wide Shut AND Cruise AND Kidman it is without a doubt all three of their worst films....
I thought O'Neal was perfect for the role. Redford is also a pretty boy but not as snotty as O'Neal. Just my 2 cents.
Considering what a rogue Barry Lyndon was, O'Neal was perfect for the role. Terrific movie, though not my favorite Thackeray novel.
While O'Neil is just a mediocre actor, Kubrick made him truly shine in BL.That shaell remain one of the great examples of unexpected casting. I simply loved every moment Ryan was on the screen - he fit so darn perfectly in the overall picture. The masterpiece became only better due to his presence.
I believe part of EWS downfall was in Kubrick's desire to repeat that successful trick. Take a shit actor, and build such a structure around him that he positively shocks everyone.
Perhaps Tom was not the right person for that trick, but it failed there miserably.
Perhaps O'Neal's succeeded simply because he didn't think of himself as of a super-star, and let the director use him as a master would use his brush.

I sometimes go to a joint called the american cinematheque , they were in a week long run of Kubrick films. I saw barry lydon and felt the same way about the lead, and the movie, meh. I was hoping for better, considering the venue.
I was kind of regretting missing eyes wide shut. I was curious because it was being shown on a week end , usually reserved for good movies, and was supposed to be a big deal when it was released. I had no interest in the story when it came out, so was willing to give it a chance, plus I heard there was female nudity, if I am honest. I think it conflicted with a football game I wanted to see, so didn't go.
Your opinion about eyes wide shut pretty much confirmed my opinion formed without seeing the film , but i was willing to change my mind about it and check it out. No regrets now.
They did have kubrecks right hand man in for a short talk and questions about the films. On the night i went, he didn't say much beyond how great kubeck was. He did say the stories about barry Lydon being shot only with candlelight were untrue. he said they did do that , but only when they could.
TERRIBLE!
Regarding Kubrick, and especially BL, the linked documentary is worth watching
for many reasons. It's quite informative and entertaining.

Agree with you about Unforgiven, Vic. Eyes Wide Shut has a redeeming quality or two. Mainly pretty, naked women, but yeah, the rest of it sure sucked. No love here for Tom at all.
...is the Mule about an old man drug runner (him).
The critics were not kind and it hasn't done very well at the box office.
I think he may be done.
I'm just a fan and not a sophisticated critic.
-Wendell
Maybe he needs to go back to working with chairs?
The one which won over the heartland audience according to news channels ?? I thought it did respectably considering that NOBODY is interested in old geezers
