Samsung HD Direct TV Reciever Reception Problems

Does anyone in the asylum know of off air HD/Digitqal reception problems with the Samsung Direct TV reciever.

This unit is 4.5 years old and I have had problems sustaining both digital and digital/HD over air transmissions. (Not to mention that many of the HD Sat channels are not consistantly recieved).

I am using a powered HD antenna (Terk TV 55)...and yes it is oriented correctly :).

I found mine was SUPER-sensitive to placement. I oriented it correctly and got nada, raised it to 5' off the floor and suddenly I got all that I expected. Maybe get a longer cable for it and walk it around or go to an outdoor antenna. I live within 3 miles(as the crow flies) of the monstrous tower in Seattle on Queen Anne and even so, moving the antenna around made a huge difference.

  Antenna was mounted on a mast about 30 feet above the ground.

Was fine on SD programming, but some HD stations suddenly stopped coming in. Ended up moving the dish (and OTA antenna) up higher on the outside wall - trees had grown taller since they were first mounted; problem solved and now I get more OTA HD stations (I am midway between two markets, Miami and West Palm Beach).
