  This is great news, but the "Special Edition" status makes me think these are ~$45/ea, and for me:
  
  2001: Definite buy, as it begs for both the high-def treatment and all sorts of extra features not found in the (bare-bones) standard-def version.
  
  Clockwork Orange: A strong "maybe"
  
  Shining: Possibly
  
  I haven't seen the others, and would probably rent before laying down the big $$.

  I'll definitely be getting Clockwork Orange & 2001; probably Full Metal Jacket, too. I hope Warner eventually gets around to Barry Lyndon and Dr. Strangelove. Note: Barry Lyndon should look friggin' fantastic in HD! :o)

      It isn't as high on my list as several other Kubrick films, but there's a lot of speculation about the reason for the likely omission of Barry Lyndon from the HD/Blu-ray set; I know I'm curious. Have you heard anything?

  in the high def. formats.

  IIRC, "Full Metal Jacket" was already released on HD-DVD, and the reviews weren't very good. I hope this reissue does the film justice in terms of PQ.

  Also note that recently it was announced that "The Wild Bunch" will be released on both blu-ray and HD-DVD on 9/25/07.

  And we are all awaiting the Bladerunner set which ought to arrive before the end of the year.
