Ok I came to this forum more often recently, as a result, I become conscious of the images traces in my OLD 3.5 yrs old plasma TV due to the pixel turn on/off delays. I find myself watching the ghost shadows from the images movement more then the show... So what do I do now? Do I update myself with up to date plasma, or should I try my portable LCD projector? I bought one 2 years ago, I think it is Sharp, for about US$ 800, but perhaps only used it for about 10 times. So will an LCD projector be better then the plasma TV screen in term of the image?
By the way, the best CRT monitor I have see must be Barco though I do not spend much attention on TV before. Just checked Barco web site but too bad their LCD TV did not claim to have fast tunr on time. May be it is good that way, else it will be a very expensive proposition!

The problem with your older LCD projector is resolution. I'll guess that the resolution is probably 600 x 800. Current production models are pushing the 1920 x 1080 pixel range. This holds true for plasmas, too, since the introduction of high def video software. Pixel counts are extremely high and speeds are improving quite dramatically (well, depending on the size of the screen!)
You may want to investigate newer models because the current models all have the HDMI inputs which certainly improves resolution and simplifies wiring. As for CRT projectors, you may want to forget about them as they are rapidly becoming dinosaurs. Service is being dropped and parts are rapidly disappearing. I wouldn't buy a CRT today, although, I will have to admit that the newer technologies are much more disposable as the prices continue to drop.

I am still happy with lower res as I am mainly watching older DVDs. the latest drama and movies are all just showing effect and impacts, no story or thinking at all... I find now I am mainly watching the 50s-70s movies and Asian dramas... I will take my projector out to play and see if I can wait for another year or so for the more updated tech, and lower price. Dont know how the LED back light LCD Tv is like! Am sure also the future TV main even have some kind of Flash Drive there at least for communicability!

Panasonic's consumer plasma line has SD card capability (I believe for at least the last 3 years). I don't know about older models, but what they have out today can even play MPEG2/AVCHD movies recorded to SD cards. That's rather convenient if you have one of their HDC-SD1 or HDC-SD5 (Sept '07) High Definition camcorders.
