In Reply to: RE: Okay, I agree about the silly FBI warning. But what can you do ? nt posted by oscar on August 30, 2007 at 06:28:30
That stupid FBI theat warning is on every disk, standard DVD, Blu-Ray and teh two lovely HD-DVD videos I saw. My beef is to have a machine that can eject a defective standard DVD!!!!!!!!! Gee, a defective disk, press eject and it it goes away. According to Sony, the answer is a big fat NO! No Problem SONY! People like me who makes lots and lots of U.S. $$$$$$$$ can spend their $$$$$ in other places! I did the audio SACD thing with a Sony SCD-1 plus lots of upgrades to that machine. Too bad that there are few SACD disks... DUMPED that format......... Say hello toa Chord Red Reference Red Book Player....... Standard CD........... Forget SACD or DVD-A.
Follow Ups:
Stop WHINING already. So a disc got stuck in your player, do you really think in the history of DVD players or CD players that's never happened before?
GROW UP!
You say you are 45, but you act 12.
Being an early adopter comes with certain risks. Its not for everyone, so if you can't handle it, wait a while before jumping in. I jumped on and off the SACD band wagon too, and you know what? The world DIDN'T come to an end. How about that. If you want safe, stick with the masses.

A disk machine. Any format, DVD, CD, DVD, SACD- DVD-A, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, if for some reason you can not eject the disk, what good is the machine/format?/
I am very sorry that your standards are so low! Sorry dude, Chord would not allow such crap. Press eject and the faulty disk is ejected. Press eject on a Meridan and the crappy disk is ejected. Press eject on a Sony and it fails. I paid about $28,000 for a two channel Red Book Chord Red Reference compact disk player and it plays antique CD's from 1983! In the same vein, lets look at some MacIntosh video players that play standard DVD disks as compared to Blu-Ray or HD-DVD disks.....I think you might be surprised.
Please. Are you just trolling, or are you really as dense as you appear. My old Levinson #39 CD player ate a disc the first month I had it. Did I throw it away? No, I got it fixed (the disc it ate was toast). %$&@ happens. Life went on. I have both a BD player and an HD DVD player-neither has eaten a disc-HD or SD.
Not everyone is cut out to be an early adopter.
That's all I'm going to say on the subject.

Dude, if you want to talk Red Book CD. Lets talk Chord Ref Referenc. It plays ANY RED BOOK CD without fault!!!!!!!!!
Sony Blu Ray video... It just won't work!!!!!!!!
$499 Blu Ray Player compared to a $28,000 CD player.... Well, the two don't compare........
One is two channel Red Book audio and the other is "HD Blu Ray video that wont' work....... Keep the beutiful Blu Ray and HD-DVD video. Please send me and e mail when one of the formats wins......
> > > "$499 Blu Ray Player compared to a $28,000 CD player.... Well, the two don't compare........ " < < <True, but why are you even trying to compare a next generation Smart car with a high tech racing bike? Yes, I realize that you're bragging about your high-end gear and how much money you've invested in it, but for $28,000 you could probably hire a part time SONY tech who'd double as a butler capable of opening any friggin' drawer in your mansion. ;0)
