Mine crapped out prematurely but there was nothing I could do about because the warranty period had expired. The bulb lasted only one quarter of it's "nominal" lifespan. Oh yeah, they recommend you replace the bulb before it actually blows up. You are supposed to figure out when it's about to blow up when the light output starts to dramatically decrease. Not that I ever noticed it.
Follow Ups:
The bulb had 2 hrs. on it. When whatever blew it tripped the circuit breaker feeding the projector. A blown bulb wouldn't cause the entire unit to be dead in the water would it? There are no lights on....nada...nothing happens when you push the power button on the head or the remote.

Yes I can and will do that but fuses blow for a reason. Looks like this unit may have some life threatening issues. Bummer.
