Without:
-A budget to start. Are we talking $500 for a receiver, $3000 for entry level separates, lower, higher, somewhere in between...?
-What speakers did you buy? If they're 4 ohm speakers, that'll need to be taken into consideration.![]()
Follow Ups:
Good point Grant! The front L and R drivers are 16ohms and all the rest are 8ohms. I can not afford more than 500 bucks. I have enough tube amps to go all tubes if I could find...I don't know what you call it....a 7+1 preamp/processor. Cheers.
A few to consider:
-Rotel. There's an RSP-1066 on Audiogon for $630, maybe make an offer?
-NAD. There's one there too, a T173 I think it was
-Parasound
-B&K
The usual suspects really. I'd not really be too concerned about 7.1 as opposed to 5.1 or 6.1 if your room is small. So that's my final question: how big is the room? :)
OK, one more q... 16ohm speakers??? Mind if I ask the brand?

Thanks for the suggestions Grant. My room is 20 X 32, but the watching/listening area is half of that, so 20 X 15. My fronts are Stromberg-Carlson "Custom 400 wide range" Cheers.
