  "When asked about the competing BLU-RAY/HD-DVD technologies, Alan Bell (tech specialist for Paramount) said their main goal was to put something out that could play on all HD-DVD players, including the oldest ones. It was noted that BLU-RAY doesn't have this amount of accessibility at the moment."

  It will be a big seller. It did well at the box office, and its the kind of movie that looks good in HD. I expect stores to sell out of it.

  Concepts such as plot, character development, acting, etc... are secondary to the the whiz bang, kablooie special effects which make "Transformers" such an attractive movie despite the poor critical ratings. I think if would have been a decent demo disk IF it had had a lossless audio track.
  
  Blu-ray fanboys are having a good time playing up the rumors (with a Paramount source) that a TrueHD track was left out because of space constraints.
