And I grabbed Enemy Of The State, A Scanner Darkly, and (wishful thinking) The Matrix Ultimate Collection, and I had the first available person to a price scan and...everything came up at full retail! Disappointed, I put everything back, picked up an SD card that was on sale and got to talking about this alleged discount to the guys up at the customer service counter, and one guy said "It's a twofer deal, and we have to push a couple of extra buttons to get it to come up". When I asked about HD DVD, he said, "Yeah, bring them up, and we'll see what we can do".
The deal runs at least until Saturday, and the trick is finding someone who has a clue that it exists. "All but one" individual title is covered, said one of the other CS guys, but I didn't ask which title that was--Transformers, maybe.
Follow Ups:
They really need to lower the price of discs if they want the masses to jump in.

Even if the prices dropped to $12, there's a lot of movies that I only want to watch once, if that.
Only one place in my area rented high-def (Hollywood Video), and they just closed that big store down. Pity too, because it was one of just a very few "Library Stores" in the country. Blockbuster in my area has so far been worthless. Time for me to start bugging the guys at the big local indy place.
