backorder since release :-)
I must confess to being an ABBA fan. I do know one should never admit it, if you want to be taken seriously.
Follow Ups:
here is the link to a shop in Denmark, who sell this disc.
It is on ABBAs Polar label, which is part of Universal, who only do HD DVD?!
Is this a change of policy from Universal or did Polar not ask Universal?
Note that it is also on HD DVD, and the two versions have different numbers.
Polar Music International is an independent label that is distributed by Universal Music Group. It is not part of Universal.
Universal Music is owned by Vivendi
I'll take the Grönemeyer instead of the ABBA, thank you very much! :-)
It's bad enough trying to select which of Elton John/Led Zeppelin/David Gilmour/Queen/Roy Orbison/Moody Blues/etc... to pick up.
...of limiting myself to nothing but geezer rock. Some of it is good, but it all kind of sounds the same after a while, and it's pretty much reduced to serving as bumper music and jingles. The day I first heard Bargain used as the music for a Buick commercial, I knew that geezer rock was long past being relevant in any meaningful way.
But by all means, have fun with your Old Person's Nostalgia Music! ;-)
I've the suspicion a generation of highly compressed, mostly synthesized, video-centric music content has killed any real development of artistic talent and musical skills with rock/pop.... Or it's a sign of old age.Since we are on the subject, can you recommend some "non-geezer" rock on HD media I should listen to ? (I already have "Nine Inch Nails" and "Incubus" material too much of which fails into the chalkboard nail-scratching audio category). :)
On HD media? If we take out "highly compressed, mostly synthesized, video-centric music content" there's not much there :-)
Most of the good stuff isn't put out on anything high-def, and probably never will be. As evidenced by Ole's ABBA announcement, high-def means obscurity; high-def means re-issues, hi-def means recycled moldy oldies :-(
You said you don't like Grönemeyer, which is too bad, because I think his SACD Mensch is the best rock album available in that format.
Anyway, if you like rock and roll, and you're interested in trying something in a more modern flavor, check out the album Curses by Rye Coalition. It's a CD release, but it's absolutely kick-ass!
