Happy shopping. I picked up four titles.

but when HD has a comparable sale the Sonyites yell "Ah ha, going out of business sale!!"
Other than complaining about the damage it's causing to my wallet ?
Methinks the Retail stores are paying no more than $10 for each disk (if that much), and the studios are still making a profit on each disc sale. At $30+, I suspect the retailers are making huge profits (well, not huge because of the limited sales).
In contrast, Toshiba has been dumping A2s below cost; The A3s may or may not be profitable at the $200 price point but I'm not sure. The Wal-Mart $98 A2 sale was definitely a firesale/loss leader. I walked into Wal-Mart a couple of days ago and the A2s/A3s were listed at $298.

I suspect not, unless the BDA is selling them cheap specifically for BOGOs. Even though BDs are being subsidized at least in part, I would be surprised if discs are normally that cheap.

Well, its a good thing Sony isn't selling the PS3 at a loss...
enjoy,
Jack
Those BOGOs are killing me. I'd much rather do impulse buys at Best Buy but the Amazon pricing is just so much better. Fry's is pretty reasonable but it's a bit of a drive.
That pretty much unfortunately falls by the wayside at B&M stores with these. I'm always looking on shelves for titles that interest me. If the price was more reasonable (it doesn't necessarily have to be a BOGO), I pull the trigger. Some that come to mind are Patriot and Kung Fu Hustle for around $15 if I remember correctly or maybe a bit lower I paid.
Impulse buying is common for lots of consumers. Hopefully prices will come down in stores. Lots of people don't use the internet for purchases.
BTW, a HD DVD player for $99 at Walmart was a good bargain for J6P looking to get in but if they are going to get clobbered with the price of the software, that bargain really isn't all that great in my mindset especially in a format war.
