This is being reported all over the web and at AVS: The Blu-ray Complete 5 disc edition could have a problem with Disc #5. Although the art work says it is the "Workprint" cut, some discs are in fact Disc #1, the "Final Cut". You can easily check to see if you have the wrong disc. The opening "Ladd Company" tree logo is green on the Final Cut and white on the "Workprint". If your disc 5 has a green tree, you've got the wrong disc.
Warner seems to have some serious Blu-ray quality control issues. First Harry Potter, now this.
There have been no reported issues with the HD DVD edition.
Follow Ups:
Although it does open with a Green tree on a white background, it does start to deviate from the "Final Cut". The only audio options I get are 5.1 DD movie audio tracks and a 2.0 Commentary on the workprint. No 5.1 TrueHD audio option unlike the "Final Cut" disk.

Guess what. Disc five was exactly what it was supposed to be: the blu-ray workprint disc. Maybe you should actually look into things a bit before you spread lies you read on AVS. You know, anyone can start false rumors online, but it takes a real pod to simply repeat them in all-caps without even attempting substantiation.

Even Bill Hunt at The Digital Bits has confirmed this issue.

Why would I spread lies? My 5th disc is the Final Cut. Why is this difficult for you to understand?
Note that you're continuing to indulge in rumors because Bill Hunt has NEVER observed a BD set with problems. All he says is the following:
"While we're talking Warner, be aware that a few readers are reporting that some copies of the 5-disc Blade Runner set mistakenly include two copies of Disc One instead of a Disc One and a Disc Five (the Workprint version). Be sure to check your copies after you purchase them."
So I have yet to see any evidence that there is a problem, and mind you the main reason I am skeptical is that I did purchase the BD set and there is no problem.

I guess I'm just a plain liar and the disc I'm holding in my cold hands right now is just a figment of my imagination. Let's see - it says Disc 5 - Workprint. Let me put it in my PS3. Hmmm.... looks like the Final Cut to me. Out of the millions of copies out there, I guess I'm the only one with this problem...
You are wasting your time and the board's bandwidth. No matter how much proof, he cannot admit he is wrong. There are other threads on this topic in other forums for your amusment.
Don't bother. Psychopathology.
All I wanted to do was express my excitement about the high-def Blade Runner release. But, when I popped Disc 5 into my player, I was totally pissed off that what was on the disc was not what was on the cover. I wanted to make sure that others checked their discs as well.
Even though more than 90% of shipped product is perfectly fine?Gee, if I didn't know these blu-ray decriers any better, I'd say they were purposefully spreading misinformation about available product to discourage people from buying it. But they'd never do that!

Wow, Blade Runner must be seriously messed up. I must be the only one who got a good copy.I'm so sorry I ever doubted you. You can clearly provide many links of people claiming other people claimed that someone claimed a problem was reported. It's very important to spread this information so no one buys the faulty Blu-rays.

You're an idiot.
I may be an idiot, but at least I like to base my assertions on actual real information.
How many fricken times do I have to state that I own the bloody thing and it's the wrong disc? Can you read English? Does my very first post not state that I purchased the BD set?
My God, man. Are you dense?
I thought you said you got the HD DVD, but going back, I see you got the Blu-ray and that, in fact, your set had the problem. Sorry.

Here is the email I just received from Warner Brothers in regards to this issue:
Dear Robert,
Your e-mail has been forwarded to me for reply.
Yes there is a defect in Disc #5 of the Blade Runner BD. We are in the process of having them re-done. Please provide me with your full address and phone number and we will be contacting you in the New Year.
Thank you for your patience in this matter and sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Duilawyer is right - Jazz Inmate is incapable of admitting he's wrong.
Here's what Jazz Inmate (Gremal) wrote on this subject, obviously referring to you, on Blu-ray.com yesterday.
Warner Brother Blunders "exploited by HD DVD fanatics"
It's significant to note that he did not retract this false statement even while issuing you an "apology" here. He then followed up his apology here with this post today. He may have typed the words "I apologize," but it's clear he didn't mean it in the slightest.
The word "disingenous" comes to mind.
> > > The word "disingenous" comes to mind. < < <
The word "paranoid" comes to mind too.
Talk about spreading lies and rumors over the internet.
Jack
From the poll, only one of 18 people responding have that problem. The one guy was in Canada...maybe that has something to do with it?
-------------"I have found that if you love life, life will love you back." -Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982)
A lot of folks will only watch the 1st disc and save the others to watch later on as time permits or go through them slowly, one at a time over a matter of days, until they reach disc 5 & realize that there's a problem.
Some folks may have purchased this set as a christmas gift for a friend or family member & be totally unaware of the problem. Even more folks who bought sets & aren't regulars on boards like this probably haven't been informed that a problem exists.
No one can say this early on from the number of respondents in an unscientific poll how deep the problem runs. It may be a few dozen, a few hundred, or a few thousand folks who received the wrong discs; perhaps more.
I'm not saying that this is a hyper-critical problem of earth-shattering proportions for Blu-ray owners, but like global warming, for some folks this may be one more inconvenient truth to be filed away for future reference. ;0)

Good. That was my point from the beginning. You were just too slow to understand it until you could apply it in a way that worked against me.
-------------"I have found that if you love life, life will love you back." -Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982)
... of the broader public impact. THAT is the point; this has nothing to do with claims made in respect to either format.
AuPh
Blu-ray.com seems like a fairly obvious choice to me.
The broader issue, as I said, is that you shouldn't be so quick to spread claims that you can't verify.

;^D
-------------"I have found that if you love life, life will love you back." -Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982)
...but in practical terms if you can't see it or access it and rarely (if ever) use it, then of what value is such a revelation to the consumer except perhaps as bragging rights for technology wonks? ;0)Food for thought.

.
You just don't learn do you? see link.
BTW, I doubt if this is your type of movie.
Jack
True, my sample size is one. But your sample size is zero. I just told you that that any idiot can start a rumor on the internet and spread it around. So what do you do? You spread the rumor again. Brilliant.
Even the endgadget geek publishing that article knew to put a question mark in the headline. Why? Because he has never actually seen any Blu-ray sets with a problem. Have you? Of course not.
-------------"I have found that if you love life, life will love you back." -Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982)
Its not a reflection on BD, its a packaging mess up at Warner. Crap happens.
> > > I just told you that that any idiot can start a rumor < < <
Kind of like you kept saying Universal is going neutral soon?
Or when you said M$ gave Paramount a $150M check to sabotage HD?
Jack
When did I ever say "Universal is going neutral soon"?
I guess you can't stop at one lie so you have to start another.
As for MS giving Viacom $$$...I guess you missed the news.
Microsoft, Viacom Ink $500 Mil Ad Deal
December 19, 2007: 08:05 PM EST
Dec. 20, 2007 (Investor's Business Daily delivered by Newstex) --
Microsoft, a perennial also-ran to Google in online video, is flexing its financial muscle in a 5-year, $500 million advertising deal with media heavyweight Viacom.
This perfectly corroborates the initial reports of MS giving huge advertising dollars to Viacom in exchange for Paramount going HD DVD exclusive.

Some quotes from your posts:
> > > Wouldn't be surprised if Universal goes "neutral" around the end of the year. < < <
This sure sounds like a rumor:
> > > The only one firmly in Microsoft's camp is Universal, but look for that to change over the next year. < < <
Jack

That's a little later than the Paramount deal.> > > This perfectly corroborates the initial reports of MS giving huge advertising dollars to Viacom in exchange for Paramount going HD DVD exclusive. < < <
Paranoid much?
Besides, you said they wrote Paramount a check for $150M. not the same.
