It could be awhile (a few decades) before 33.2 megapixel TV becomes a product you can actually buy for the home, if ever. More likely to have commercial and industrial applications.
Isn't that new TV standard called Ultra HD? As usual, technology in the U.S. continues to fall further and further behind.
Frankly, there is not that much HD programming yet. What "Trading Spaces" in HD? NO thanks!
I had to post fst just before starting work. So the first banner blazed with no info. The message was in theinquirer.net site and said the Japanese gov is shelling out cash to fund a new higher res. TV format to be due around 2015.
So, if it is like in the past.. the USA should have it by the year 2040 or so!!!
I'm getting up there...I won't be able to see well enough in 2040 for it to matter!
Actually, I believe there are hi def cameras that shoot in this resolution now.
1080p is good enough for the max screen size I can get into in my living room, which is around 60". I don't anticipate going to a FP so I'm just fine with current hi def resolution.
