One nice person thought I was talking about a different issue entirely, but at least responded. Everyone else ignored me and continued to argue about black level settings and this other person who can't comprehend the aspect ratio difference between 4:3 and 16:9.
Can you recommend any other forums? :) I like this one because people are also audio geeks, like me.

I agree you should start your own thread on either forum with a subject like "bizarre panny problem" os something like ;-)
It's just too hard to get anyone's attention on those megathreads.
Just another option. There are numerous calibrators that hang out there and I'm sure they've seen a multitude of problems that affect displays.
Well, that's a bit unfortunate, but sometimes you have to be persistent there, as there are many, many people asking many, many questions. You could also try posting your own thread on this topic in the plasma section, in the non-sticky area and see what happens. I know what you mean about audio geeks ;-), but there are a lot of real video geeks at AVS.
