  Not offering firmware updates simply means negative publicity and customers electing not to buy Samsung products; particularly Blu-ray players. Thankfully, the other Blu-ray manufacturers haven't taken this stance (for now.....)

    I had a Samsung LCD HDTV that failed under warranty. It took about four months for Samsung to resolve the issue by replacing what was effectively a defective set. It was replaced by Samsung with another of their products. In future, Samsung won't be on my shopping list.

    Perhaps they feel its not their fault or place, since the problems have only been with one studio (Fox). What they have said in the past, is that they will put out FW updates, but they won't be proactive about it. Did LG give you all the updates you need? I haven't kept up with that.

      Everything is work now but I'm hesistant to buy any more new release FOx movies until I find out further firmware updates are unnecessary.
