HI:I know little about this, please help. A friend wants to show movies to children on the white 8' or 9' (I don'nt know which) high wall of a church basement. Someone has offered to spend up to $1,500 for the projector. I suggested that he should also budget a DVD/VCR player and carrying cases into the total price.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTOR AND ACCESSORIES TO BUY?
My brief scan of the web sites at Best Buy and Circuit City suggests that there are "Business" projectors and "Entertainment" projectors. I also called InFocus, from whom I have bought a couple of business projectors, and they suggested a model IN26+, which is basically a business projector. I guess I'm looking for additional suggestions. I suspect that the church would value functionality, utility, and reliability over the latest bells and whistles. Mostly, they want to show videos to kids.
Your help and suggestions are most welcome. Thanks.

The IN 26 will work fine. I'm using an IN 24 in the church example. The Infocus IN 24 and IN 26 models are very simple and quite sturdy, with few buttons to mess up. The IN 26 projector option only runs about $650. However, the serious video types would prefer the $1299 more feature laden wide screen projectors.
The cart and inexpensive $100 combo DVD player and 6.1 sound system works fine with the projector.
At that price point, the $1299 Panasonic 720p PT AX200U or the $1299 Epson 720p Cinema 720.
I have the very similar previous Panasonic 100 model in my home theater.
Check http://www.projectorcentral.com for reviews of both. Both are very bright and can be effectively used when there is some ambient light. Both have flexible 2x zoom lenses that give you a lot of placement flexibility. Both do a great job with standard definition DVDs, but will show Blue Ray and HD in the future.
For my version of doing something similar, see link below.
