a high quality sound format piggybacking on video.
Follow Ups:
Something I've noticed is that PCM soundtracks appear to be turning into a thing of the past. More and more Blu-ray discs are coming out with TrueHD soundtracks.
I don't have anything against TrueHD, but what's the point of the large capacity and high bit-rate capability of Blu-ray if no one uses it?
At least you can still use the Lossless. Be thankful its not DTS-HD MA.
Jack
and the process is lossless.
This does not ensure that we cannot hear a sideeffect, like PSU loaded by pocessing power use, and analog amps suffering. Or calculations might clip in the digital domain, or jitter might raise its ugly head.
But in principle, TrueHD, dts HD MA and PCM give out the same bits to the DAC.
So I think Dolby True HD is OK, and dts HD MA is better, simply due to the preset choices.
But care in mixing and transfer seems more important to me.
this is best blu-ray i've seen.audio @ video are unbeliveable. i've seen this one four times and i've only had it two days. those drums will never be heard in a elevater.
