Question about Pioneer AVR Receiver's "hybrid" amp. Can it handle a 4ohm load on the center channel?

Not sure if I'm at the right area but ......
My surround is ancient and very much user unfriendly. So I found a leftover Pioneer VSX 516 which has preamp outputs. It is rated at 110 watts x 7 channels. But the specs call it a hybrid amp. FWIW, this was only a $400 receiver when new. However it gets very good reviews for its price point. And I really need the preamp outs so I can use my 2 channel speakers for the front L&R channels. I know there are better but my budget is limited. And to get preamp outputs would generally cost twice as much.

FWIW, my center channel speaker consists of 2 Infinity 101 bookshelf speakers which are rated at 8 ohms. Wiring them one way will produce 4 ohms. However i cqan wire them another (series I believe) and get 16 ohms). My concern is that 4 ohms may be too much load for the amp and 16ohm may be too inefficient.

I use Denon 1082 receiver (110 wpc RMS) with NO problems on center channel. - Duilawyer 18:16:33 05/15/08 (0)
I don't believe center is much of a load for amplifiers, as opposed to RL.

I use in my pioonner elite series receiver a mertin logan cinema with no trouble at all( L and R channels use a nak satsis).
