As more stuff comes out in high def, hopefully there will be stuff you both like. I'm dating a lady who has pretty broad taste. If she doesn't like something, she just falls asleep rather than objects.

You need to spice up your sex life Jazz!
Oops - just noticed you're talking about audio...... :0)
Sorry - couldn't resist but I'm English and you know our sense of humour is a little eccentric?
Best Regards,

Reliability seems to be somewhat an issue. I did looked at the 705 though. Nothings written in stone at this point.

You won't need your receiver for that. Just tell the receiver to pass through the video unprocessed and let your plasma deal with it. The audio processing alone won't overheat the Onkyo. But you're probably ok with the Yamaha. I dunno.

You may be right. I've also heard about popping speakers when switching sources or something like that. However, reviewers apparently love the Onkyo 805.
I have always appreciated Yamaha's quality and they have been around a long time. I've never owned one of their audio components but have had several of their motorcycles which were very good............and very fast.
