Sony 46 inch xbr8-Panasonic plasma

I had been looking at the sony 46 xbr 4 but heard about the coming of the 46 xbr8. Any details on when this is going to be available and a price? My friend told me to check out the Panasonic 46 inch top of the line plasma 850? It was very very nice.

Anything else at around this price range I should be looking at?

At this time it is being utilized as a stand alone unit and I am totally satisfied with this tv. I looked at as many as I could under showroom conditions, liked this one, and took a chance. As with a good music system I am engrossed by the content, not the equipment. Your expectations may vary.

  If that is the 700- or 750 series, you have a killer TV. I have the 58-incher; the Pannies just have a picture well above others (Pioneer Kuro perhaps being the equal.)

Right now the price, including shipping, for the 46" 85U is around $1700. The price difference between the 80U and 800U is about $700, so the 850U should be available for around $2400.

Searched before I hit "post" and Best Buy shows it at $2500 (+ tax, of course), but there should be better prices online.
