If you have video and audio outputs on your TV just run the composite video signal and the audio signal from the TV set to the video and audio inputs on your recorder.
Follow Ups:
I do have video and audio outputs on the TV, but I sometimes need to record something different than what is on the TV, depending who's watching, etc.

That's pretty cool. You must have an older model. The current Panasonic 32" TV (TC-32LZ800) doesn't have any video outs.
