I'm moving this week. One of the things I want to get which I don't have now is a TV. I intend to hook up my PS3 and use that as a blu-ray player, and also need an ATSC tuner so I can get basic broadcast HD streams over the air. Also plan on hooking up a home theater PC so I can watch some internet TV using the Boxee software.
I need a 1080p LCD that can do this all under $1K.
I've seen many that claim to do this, but would ask you here for some advice. I don't play video games on the PS3, and don't watch too much sports. Basically watching Blu-Ray music concerts, some action movies/scifi etc...
Any brands to avoid? Any help would be much appreciated.

Get a Sharp LC42D65U. Just rated as a "best buy" by Consumer Reports. It has 5 HDMI inputs. I have one and it's excellent on hi-def cable and standard dvd (via upsampled hdmi output). Also, very good on standard def tv if your box allows upsampling to 480P. Don't have blu-ray yet. J&R sells it for $979.99.
thanks, much appreciated, good price too, and the 5 hdmi inputs are excellent. Probably getting this weekend, gotta work for something :)
Plasma is a better picture, and can even cost less than a same-size brand-name LCD TV.
