I'd gladly refrain from responding directly to JI's posts, but defamatory insinuations have to be dealt with one way or another. Practical suggestions are appreciated, but not offensive mischaracterizations, and I'm not particularly fond of complaining to moderator(s) or use of implied threats as you've done here. Before playing Solomon as channeled through Henny Youngman I'd suggest doing an archive search; you may discover that I'm the least contentious of your two targets. Note: I use measured responses and rarely initiate controversy.I have no idea what problems Chris was having with Teresa and Navman because I don't keep up with all the posts and Video Forum politics, but YOU brought attention to it, which is unfortunate, IMO. I suspect that their problems are much different than the conflicts of opinion I've had with Jazz Inmate, but that's beside the point. No offense intended, but drawing attention to their embarrassment is just as inappropriate as making allusions to lovebirds and a lovefest (hence the Jon Stewart reference).
I'm sorry if you didn't appreciate DVDBeaver's April Fools jest that I linked; you have my sincerest apology. I thought that more folks would like it (they did over on Steve Hoffman's Board), but your decision to toss another critical 'hand-grenade' into a thread that was intended as light-hearted suggests otherwise.
Peace, bro,

I had no problem whatsoever with the April Fools DVDBeaver post.
My comment was directed at two individuals who can't seem to get along. Why bother posting in a thread if the main reason is to take a pot shot at someone you don't agree with or care for? Neither of you seem to be able to "just be friends", hence my humorous -- at least I thought -- reference to "lovebirds".
It was not in any way a threat. I don't care for crybabies running to moderators, either. However, the link to the other forum where Chris had to get involved is just an example of two people who constantly "go at it". Why? What positives do the constant put-downs and snide remarks bring to this forum? Seriously, both of you need to give it a rest.
And I'll forgive you the Jon Stewart insult.

It would've been better had you not used the language you chose or, as an alternative, made the effort to contact us off line if you felt that strongly.
Joe, you apparently do not frequent the Outside Asylum, but if you did the conflicts between JI and myself might have greater context. The whole 'cheerleader' thing would've died down here long ago, but he made our differences over HD-DVD and Blu-ray into a public issue over on the Outside board where the cheerleader rhetoric took on a life of it's own in the midst of political discussions.
Take note that in this thread everything was fine until he took the opportunity to make a personal jab at me out of the blue; it was indirect because he was responding to another's post, but he mentioned me specifically in the subject line. Where did that come from? I certainly didn't invite his ridiculous comment! Yes, we have strong differences of opinion over on the Outside Asylum board because our political perspectives are virtually polar opposite, but I make every effort to leave the political stuff there.
OTOH, when someone insinuates that you a liar and a fool it requires a response; sorry, but that's life.

No offense, but as a public pronouncement it had all of the shadings of an implied threat. Furthermore, Chris's actions, regardless of the intent, were already a public enough embarrassment to Teresa and Navman. I seriously doubt that most folks surfing this site were aware of it (I certainly wasn't), so linking the matter here does little to help defuse their situation much less anybody else's; if anything, you should apologize to them for resurrecting that post and airing their dirty laundry over here.
As I pointed out earlier, I don't know what Teresa and Navman's problems are (or were). To extrapolate from their disagreement in characterizing the differences between Jazz Inmate and myself is unwise, IMO. You see, we have ongoing political disagreements over on the Outside Asylum board which aren't going away anytime soon, so 'giving it a rest' would probably take a nuclear detent and UN size cajones to broker a deal.
What I will promise to do (for my part) is to avoid allowing political disagreements to overflow into the Video Asylum.

That was a compliment, ...of sorts. ;O)
