Hello
I have the chance to get a pioneer 101 at what I believe is a good price
(3000). I can get the the pioneer 111 at (2500). What are the difference and is it work the extra $$. Unfortunately they do not have the pioneer 5020 -I would have liked to compare all three units.
Thank you for any thoughts on this
Frank

I would say the 111 is the better deal at those prices. If you find those two affordable, don't even consider the 5020, it is a definite step down (but would hardly make us feel especially sorry for you if you had to choose it).Edit: meant to say that the tuner in the 111 is very good. Do not overlook OTA HDTV if possible, typically makes cable look pathetic. Plus you get the speakers and stand with the 111...handy to have for the future even if you don't use them now. So basically you're paying way over $500 for the ISF cal in the 101 if you consider you're not getting the speakers/stand/tuner; you can easily get the 111 calibrated for much less than that.

One, the 111, is a TV, and the other is a monitor. IMO, yes, the extra money for the Elite is worth it.
dumb question--what is the difference?
Frank
The TV includes a tuner, the monitor does not. So, unless you have some other facility for tuning you'll likely find the monitor of limited practical use.
