Thanks, racerguy
According to 12-rounds reviewer Ralph Potts at AVSforum, "It should be noted that this disc [12 rounds] would not play in my Oppo Blu-ray Disc player. This appears to be an interaction problem between the player and this disc. It loaded and played fine in my PS3 and Panasonic BD-55 Blu-ray players."
Okay. I'm not crazy. I wonder how many other discs might not work with my new Oppo.

Get used to it.
Odds are you'll need a firmware update. Contact Oppo, they probably already know, but it couldn't hurt to e-mail them.

My Blu Ray player is spec 2.0 compliant and has played every movie I tried first time since I bought it back in Sept. 08.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
Pretty much all of the newer ones are 2.0 compliant, including the Oppo. That has nothing to do with needing FW updates.

I've had the Oppo BD83 less than one week, which I purchased brand new and direct from Oppo. I suppose I wasn't expecting a firmware update during the first week of ownership. However, I do have the player set up to automatically notify me if there are any. So far, my firmware seems up to date.
Okay. I just did a google search on 12 rounds and Oppo. There's a lot more information about the incompatibility problems with this disc than there was a few days ago. It appears that 12 rounds blu ray is currently not working with many players, not just Oppo.
This happens periodically. I haven't really kept up with this disc. I don't know if its a change in the BD+ (if its a Fox disc), or if its an authoring issue. Either way, the player manufacturers will have to come out with a FW update to fix the problem. The sad thing is, that the BD specs are so sloppy, that both the disc and the player can be within the specs, and still be incompatible.

EDIT: Its a Fox disc. Why am I not surprised?
