I used DVDTALK and saved a bundle on already heavily discounted DVDs and Blu-rays, but I'll wager that there are a whole lot of additional coupon codes from affiliated sites that will work (you can order more than once, but apparently not using the same code); maybe someone can follow-up this post with a list some or all of known codes.Cheers,
AuPh

the last time I ordered from them on a coupon special, it took 8 weeks to get one title and the other one I ordered never came. Check Amazon for just as good a deal but it just from their resellers. That is where I have gotten all my BD's at roughly the same price.

I placed three Deep Discount online orders July 18-20. The July 18 order arrived yesterday (July 24) and the other two were delivered earlier today (July 25). All via their free shipping option to here in Florida.I often obtain DVDs from Amazon, too. An order I placed with them on July 17 has not arrived yet (Amazon had a better deal on a Sherlock Holmes collection). I like Amazon a lot and have ordered from them many times, but DVDs typically take 10-12 days to arrive here. No complaints, but they're certainly not faster than Deep Discount to my home.
Edit (update): The Amazon order placed on July 17 was postmarked July 28 and it arrived in the mail yesterday, August 1.

Huh? My DVDs and Blu-Rays from Amazon usually arrive in 2 to 4 days tops. Maybe you're ordering pre-release titles or live in the boonies. ;-)

Deep Discount's free shipping orders are fairly consistent; BTW, I received over 90% of my sale purchase orders (including B/O) from DD before their sale was over and I ordered a LOT this time around.

Their normal shipping takes something like a week just to get out the door. Then they find the cheapest, slowest shipping possible. Even their expedited shipping takes a while to ship out.
I rarely use them now.

I initially ordered the complete Battlestar Galactica Blu-ray set on amazon for $220. After I realized I could get it on DD for $150, I placed my order with DD and refused delivery on the Amazon shipment. This was the week of July 27. The set is still showing backordered status on DD. I don't mind the wait, but will they ever ship it?

My wife and I have placed at least 8-10 orders every year since 2001 using Deep Discount DVD's free shipping. Never once had a delivery problem. Shipments to our house here in Florida usually take about 7-10 days. Plus, if you have any questions, their staff is very helpful over the telephone.
I've never had the slightest problem either and have done 2-3 orders/year for the last half dozen years or so. I just got the 8 discs I ordered on sale today. That's not to say that others have not had problems - anyone can have them. Everyone can have an off day or deal with a particular item that goes out of stock.
The savings during this two week sale period at Deep Discount can be phenomenal, but it always depends on what you order. Sure, you may have to wait awhile to receive partialed back-orders on popular titles (especially BD), but I always calculate my savings by comparing with Amazon's prices first. True, some things end up costing about the same and a few are cheaper at Amazon even when you calculate in Deep Discount's 25% off coupons (in those instances I purchase from Amazon, naturally), but the lion's share of the DVDs and BDs I've ordered from DD are sizable savings and I've rarely had to wait longer than two or three weeks for delivery of back-ordered titles even with free shipping selected.

Their email announcing the sale said to use the code SUPERSALE. Over the last three days I've used that code three times without a problem.
I like to use a variety of codes because it helps all concerned to know that their links to Deep Discount are being utilized. The codes used to work only once (according to their promotion of one use per customer), but that has apparently changed over time.

It's supposed to run until August 2, with the usual codes:
DVDTALK
USATODAY
NYTIMES
SUPERSALE
PRICESEARCH
YAHOO
ESPN
XM
JIM
DEALNEWS
LATIMES
WGN
WLS
PRICEGRABBER
JULY9
and maybe others.

Note: I've only used DVDTALK and can't vouch personally for other discount codes that the poster listed, but if one doesn't work try another.
Cheers,
AuPh
