I own that recorder & the newer panasonic one with picture minus.I have 100s of discs recorded on these 2 recorder players.generics are crap most wont finalize.Ive tried all brands.I like sonys & philips the best.they have to be 4.7 8x dvd-r discs.16x will not work on the panasonics.note on your recorder generics wont work on it.even the brand names I tried not all would finalize,the other recorder I bought the dmr es 20 does better with generics & brand names.its cheaper & better than the older recorder.plus I was able to finalize a lot of discs that were recorded on the older machine.plus if it did not finalize on the olde machine the newer one added the picture menu automatically.

My DMR E50 finalized a TDK 16x just fine. Plays fine
on Philips player. Go figure.
30" is a woofer size (EV 30W)
Just bought 100 TDK 16X, guess I'll return it. But is there
still 8X available anywhere?. I should stock up on them.
I use ebay for the discs.I use to get them at walmart,they switched to the 16x I bought a couple to see if they would work years ago.they dont.they must be for computers?

I will try a 16x on the Pano and see what happens....
G’day,
I don’t have the Panasonic model you do but I have;
• Panasonic DMR-E100 (till just recently)
• Panasonic DMR-EX78 (replaced the above)
• Panasonic DMR-EH60 in another system.
They are all hard drive recorders but they all record 8x & 16x DVD-R discs.
Please report back if your model will record on a 16x disc.
As below I recommend using good quality media.
Good luck.
Smile
