Ok, I'm asking to make things more (less?) complex than they need to be but...
I would like to know if anyone makes a preamp or integrated amp that has 5.1 analog inputs but no "processing". Processing would be redundant, in that my oppo already does it and I have a great DAC for my digital music. A radio tuner and phomo preamp would be nice too. Basically I want an integrated/pre amp that only minds the 5.1/stereo analog signals coming out of my Oppo or my TC-7520. I know, I'm a huge throwback....
Follow Ups:
The McIntosh C45 preamp has dual 5.1 inputs, an excellent MM phono input, and it accepts the optional high-performance FM/AM TM1 tuner module. More details and the user manual are on the mcintoshlabs.com website.
Preamp/Processor:
McCormack MAP-1 w/phono
Parasound P-7 w/phono
Integrated/RCVR:
Primare
B&K
The above two make recievers - (an integrated with radio). An external phono is always best -
I settled for a Rotel RCVR.
I've been doing some digging and it seems that there isn't a lot of anything out there that even has 5.1 inputs....and that which is available is either some esoteric, high dollar bling or high end Onkyo/etc. Maybe I'll just have to run an extra integrated.
This is a 5.1 analog integrated amp. OTOH, there are several such preamps and power amps.
Remember, that the bass/channel management in the Oppo is not as flexible as that found in digital processors.
