Hey guys,I just upgraded my satellite service to HD and also purchased an LCD HD TV and I've noticed that the sync between the audio and video is slightly delayed. When I first got the units, I was using Component video and seperate L/R audio and there was no delay but when I switched over to HDMI, the delay is there.
I've got the satellite set to 1080i output and I've played with different audio options in both units menu's but the delay is still there.
Anyone else have this problem or know how to eliminate it?

So what is the downside to going back to component video and analog audio?
My DVD player has component video out which I am using and the TV only has 1 set of component video inputs, thus the choice to use HDMI for the satellite. I guess I could get a video switch box that accomodates component video and use that if the HDMI delay can't be fixed.
I also seen a slight, very slight improvement in the video quality thru the HDMI cable so I wanted to go that route...

I've occasionally had this problem with broadcast digital. Not sure what to do either, but fortunately it's been rare.
Personally I'd be happier with a worse picture than this issue. He has HD, but a low end Sony audio system, so likely doesn't have adjustment. Doesn't bother him so much, it'd drive me nuts.
Sorry, only answering the part of "anybody else have this problem". No idea how to fix it if the replies below don't do it.

There is an audio delay adjust on most any processor I know of. Look for the setting.

No such feature/setting on either the satellite receiver or the TV...

The problem is when the video arrives BEFORE the audio LOL. Not saying that's his problem, need more details, but it can happen. IIRC somebody else asked about it here a while ago. I have no idea what to do if you can't use the audio delay feature, this sort of A/V unsync really annoys me. If the video preceded the audio, I guess I'd probably try to delay the video in some relative way somehow, maybe even try going back to analog video (component) if I was really ticked off. Depending on the display, component can be really excellent, and may not be a problem with many sources (would be with a disc player where you'd probably lose any SD upscaling).
