They have the best video chip. There is also a healthy aftermarket improving
the audio section. Going Bluray next year myself.

Oh, yeah, I have an OPPO 83SE, and it works great.
Now I have to say that the first one I got was defective, but OPPO stepped up to the plate. They sent me a new one that worked just perfectly. They have a great customer service department.
I love my current set up.
A 55" Samsung 6000 series.
A Pioneer SC-27
an Oppo 83 SE
a Thorens 125 mkII with a Sumiko Blue Point Special Evo III.
and attendant HDMI and Ps Audio Transcendent IC's.
Oh yeah, and
Monitor Audio Silver RX series, 8's, center, and 1's, along with a Velodyne 12 " sub. in a 5.1 configuration.
It all works great, and I am very, very happy. After years of screwing around with two channel this and that, I have a system that plays all my discs with authority and clarity. I am happy.
Hey YMMV, but I am done.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
