Low profile AV Receiver recommendation

A friend has asked me to recommend a new receiver for his AV setup. He needs a low profile unit that can handle two sets of in-ceiling (another issue)speakers for the liv room and kitchen). Will be used with a blu ray player and hi end TV. Surround not necessary, maybe a sub. Any ideas of where to start? Thanks.

Low profile? There are few. Look at the Marantz NR1601 Sherwood R-904Nfor a start.
